The car we will be using for BOTH events this weekend: Mazda Roadster Touring Car
Race 3 - Monoco (Côte d'Azur)
The 3rd race on the GTRRL schedule will be at the famed F1 track in Monaco. This race has always been seen as one of the toughest on the GTRRL schedule and this season will prove no different as drivers will have to focus on keeping the car out of the wall and still running as fast as possible. This race will also be the first race of 3 in the street course championship that will crown the person with the most points over these 3 street races. Not only will drivers be giving it their all to claim the coveted trophy from Monaco, a good points day must be considered if they are to be in contention for the street course championship.
Procedures
The starting order for this race will be done by a qualifying session before the start of the race. Each driver will go out and do two timed laps with their best lap counting as their time. The qualifying order for this race will be based on the reverse order of the points standings. Thus, the points leader will qualify last. (To see the points standins, go to the points standings thread). After the session the person with the fastest lap will be the pole sitter and will be granted a bonus point for claiming the pole.
The race will be 26 laps long. Drivers will be required to pit atleast one time and this must be done between lap 5 and lap 20. If someone were to pit outside of this range, this will not count as their required stop and they will be required to pit again inside this window. Failing to pit once inside this window will result in a disqualification from the results and could also result in further points penalties.
Start and Restart Procedures: There will be no pace lap as we will be using the grid lines on the track. Once the game indicates to go, we will line up in the correct order and a steward will tell everyone what time to go on based on the race clock at the top. Once this time is reached, everyone is free to go and can pass however. The car we will be using here will be the Mazda Roadster Touring Car . The HP limit for this race will be 207HP. Be sure to fully break in your to reach max performance. From here on out, all cars will be defaultly tuned so no car upgrades can be bought. Only thing the game will allow you to adjust will be the brake settings.
Picture showing how the start will look like for Monaco
The room will be open at 10:00pm ET time and qualifying will begin shortly after that. Once qualifying is done we will go racing. Both races have been scheduled to last about 40-45 minutes so keep that in mind when getting ready to race. The room with be in a public room opened by DragonGT83.
This time is subject to change as series admins are determining whether or not to wait for the NASCAR race to conclude on Saturday before going racing. Stay tuned incase this changes
Race 4 - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Following the conclusion of the season opening race at Daytona, the stars of the GTRRL will be shifting gears and heading back to the states for the race Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. This will be the fourth race in the overall championship and will be the 2nd race of the road course championship. Those who found success last week at Suzuka will be hoping to extend on that to move up the road course standings. Also those who finished up front in Monaco, will have to work extra hard at Suzuka as they will find themselves at the back of the grid for the start of this race.
Procedures
The starting order for this race will be based on the inverted results of the race at Monaco (this will be the procedure for every second race of a double header). For those that do not race the first race, they will be required to start at the back for the second race. If someone is found to have purposely finish poorly or quit in the first race, they can be made to start in the back of the second at the admins discretion*. The person who starts first in the second race will NOT be given credit for the pole and will not gain a bonus point for starting first.
This race will consist of a pace lap and we will do a NASCAR style start. There will be NO restart zone for this track so the start finish line will be designated as the start zone. Once the leader has crossed the start finish line then everyone can go. There will be no passing before the start finishing line and anyone seen jumping the start will be handed down a time penalty at the conclusion of the race. Repeat offenders could have points penalties as well.
The race at Laguna Seca will be 28 laps. During the race, drivers will be required to make 1 pit stop. This pit stop must be done between the 5th lap and the 23rd lap. Any pit stop done outside this range will not be counted and could result in a disqualification if no pit stop is done in this range of laps. Tires during pit stops will be limited to medium tires only!
We hope to see everyone there this weekend for another exciting set of races here in the GTRRL! Will the top drivers of the GTRRL continue to dominate or will a surprise winner come out of nowhere to take home a big win? Find out this Saturday!
